Alyssa, Memoirs of a Queen!
drag or swipe →
A one-week West End run at the Vaudeville Theatre for RuPaul’s Drag Race star Alyssa Edwards — bringing her fully autobiographical extravaganza to London for the first time. Written by Brad Loekle and directed by Spencer Noll, the show is equal parts cabaret, memoir, and spectacle: high kicks, splits, iconic costumes, and a lot of tongue pops.
The lighting design had to do the work that drag lighting always has to do — make it gorgeous — while also serving the more intimate, confessional moments that the autobiographical format demands. Big production numbers needed to hit hard; the in-between spaces needed somewhere quieter to land. A short, sharp run, but a proper show.
